Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts are subject to a blind review process, through an online system. The review process takes 6-8 weeks, and its primary focus is the novelty of the manuscripts and their contributions to the economic science development.

Peer review procedures

  1. The corresponding author submits the manuscript through ECOTOUR's online system
  2. The ECOTOUR Editor Board will identify the quality of manuscript and the possibility of cases of scientific misconduct including authorship, ownership, and plagiarism.
  3. The Editor Board notifies the submissions and informs the authors if the papers are suitable for the journals. Therefore, the manuscript will be sent to two reviewers for reviewing process.
  4. All of the contributions of the ECOTOUR are subject to a double-blind peer-review, which means that neither the author(s) nor the reviewers know the identity of the other.
  5. At least two reviewers review every submitted paper. The review process is an online process and contains a clear referees' statements concerning paper's publishing approval or its rejection
  6. Reviewer’s decision. The reviewers will provide the following recommendations:
Accepted without revisions; means that the manuscript is acceptable for publication.
Accepted with minor revisions; implies that the manuscript is acceptable for publication once it is revised in response to the reviewers’ concerns.
Accepted with major revisions; means that substantive inadequacies in the manuscript, such as data analysis, the main theory used, and rewriting of paragraphs, need to be revised.
Rejected; means that the manuscript is not acceptable for publication or the given reviews relate to fundamental issues.
The reviewer’s decision will be considered by the Board of Editors to determine the ensuing process of the manuscript. In case of review results with revisions, the article is sent to the author(s) together with a referee's opinions. The authors are asked to respond to the referees' comments and make the appropriate adjustments in the text. Then, the authors send back the corrected version. If in the revision period, the article is not returned (or the editorial board is not informed about any delay) – the article is considered to be refused.
  7. The Editorial Board makes the final decision on publication. At this final decision, the manuscript may still be rejected if the author did not seriously conduct the revisions necessary.
  8. Confirmation to be published. After going through the editing process, at this stage, the final layout of the manuscript will be resent to the author to ensure that the content is in accordance with the author’s writing. At this stage, the author may revise any typographical error found in the final manuscript. Once confirmation from the author is given, the Editorial Team will process the manuscript for online publication on the journal's website.
